Aquilani

After Xavi Alonso turned in a formal transfer request to Liverpool last week, it seemed clear that some type of deal would occur between the reds and Real Madrid. Early this week, with Alonso gone, Benitez has found a capable replacement with Roma's Alberto Aquilani. The 25 year old Italian midfielder is a great choice- good skills on the ball, quicker, and more active than Alonso- he will contribute a high level of activity looking to combine with Gerrard and Torres from the centermid position. He has lots of International experience with Italy- a great side- and I hope he'll be able to help the boys win the league this season. After a rough off season, and the lucrative transfer market with managers making multimillion dollar transfers like little kids trading baseball cards, I hope we can start off right against Tottenham and keep some of the momentum we had at the end of last season's campaign.

Paper Hearts

YO
Just watched the trailer and some fakerviews from the movie Paper Hearts with Michael Cera and Charlyne Yi. The movie looks really funny, the kind of awkward funny that Michael Cera rules at. The premise is that Charlyne is doing a documentary on Love, and while she's making the documentary she falls in love with Cera. They make a pretty clever pair, and the movie should be cool. It comes out in a few days- Aug 7 I think.
Here's one of the interviews:
Peace it

First Post

Hey Folks,
Just set up this blog, and I hope I can get into the habit of posting regularly. I got the idea to make it when I realized that I like sharing things, especially things I find online, with lots of peeps through facebook and email. Even though I'll probably keep doing that, I thought I could get this blog going to centralize my sharing, so that everyone- friends, family, and anyone else- can see what I'm into, watching, listening to, reading, etc. I decided to call it The Greatest Sum because I hope that it will be a place to consolidate my interests (which are all great) into one sum. I also chose Greatest Sum because its the name of one of my favorite Avett Brothers songs.
SO
without further ado (and sticking with the Avett theme) I give you my FIRST post:
This is a link to NPR music for a live recording of the Avett's set at the 50th Newport Folk festival from the Fort Stage yesterday at around 1 o'clock. Newport Folk festival has been a great festival for a long time and I'm grateful that folk music is still vital here in 2009. In the 60's this festival was part of the blues revival period where some of my favorite acoustic blues artists like Mississippi John Hurt and Skip James became publicly known. Below is a video of John Hurt playing You Got To Walk That Lonesome Valley.
Walk it for yourself,
